I’m very concerned that the high water mark for Consevatives, and the time needed to wake up, may both have passed us by.
Seems to me that because things have been so good for so long in the economy and such that people have too much time on their hands to play with vanity candidates and pet issues. Everyone has forgotten how crappy things were in the late 70s. Until that focus is regained the voters will be all over the place, instead of focused on the bread and butter issues as a whole.
I just hope we still have the option to elect a real conservative leader by the time the kiddies realize we needed one all along.
Let’s not give up the ship before it sinks. In a two-man Republican race, Romney emerges as a clear winner. With Huckabee’s votes alone — almost all right-wing conservative, as opposed to McCain left wing — Romney would have taken Florida by a wide margin. Super Tuesday will certainly be more of a two man race with Huckaby and Giuliani out of it, whether technically or for all practical purposes. I believe Romney will fare well then.
I’m wondering if McCain didn’t have a pact with Giuliani from the beginning to draw the most conservative votes in Florida, splitting them and providing the victory for the liberal McCain.
Don’t throw in the towel just yet!
