McCain has just won the nomination.
Rudy’s out.
Huckabee can only win a couple states in the south after coming in 4th in florida and being unable to reach out to anyone else but evangelicals.
Romney will have to continue to assess how much of his fortune he is willing to spend. The Anti-McCain vote will coalesce around him but with super tuesday a week away it’s not going to get the job done I don’t think.
Ron Paul is...well....Ron Paul.
So there you have it. John has been waiting in the bushes (heh) for 8 years...it’s his time now.
Out of all the rino candidates we have had to put up with, McCain is really not that much worse. We have a strong leader, who sees the importance of the GWOT, with strong convictions and an ability to win over independents. We really cannot do much better than that with the field we have been given.
Only one state, let's not get ahead of ourselves...it's far from over.
Damn. Just Damn.
Are you describing President Bush?

Yeah, leaves our young men to do the fighting, while giving amnesty. I’ll vote democrat. We need our military out right now. We don’t deserve their protection
The day after McCain sews up the nomination his so-called friends in the MSM will turn on him and start a series of articles and exposes detailing his involvement in the Keating scandal, his uncontrollable temper, his drug-addicted wife, and so on. We conservatives already know his perfidy, from CFR to amnesty for illegals.
I AM SICK TONIGHT!
MITT ROMNEY NEEDS A BIG PERFORMANCE NEXT TUESDAY - BIG!!!!!!
Except for the little fact McCain would get KILLED in the general election, especially if Obama gets the nod.
True enough. Fred also had his weak spots. We have to go with the one who will do the least amount of damage. That one would seem to be--gagging as I say the words--McCaine at this time.
If I could still vote for Fred or Mitt, I would, but Conservatives have to admit that McCaine scored a big victory tonight. I know it's not over till it's over and all that, but I don't see Mitt or anyone else catching or passing McCaine on super-Tuesday. It looks like McCrazy is on the inside track to the nomination now (gnashing my teeth as I say this).
I'm not ready to write off the November elections yet. I think in recent years there's been a growing gap in outlook between the general electorate and us Freepers. McCaine might just pull in enough moderates to win the swing states. Still, it's going to be a hard sell, and when the media turn on him--as they will--who's going to stand by him? Conservatives? What goes around comes around.
How would he govern if he wins? (Gagging as I say that) Hmm....If he's smart, he'll pick folks like Kemp, et al, to run the economy. If there's a pragmatic bone in his body, he'll leave things to his supply-side advisors just as Klinton left things to Rubin & Co. Those guys weren't dummies. If McCaine is serious about cutting spending--big if--then he might just do some good. At least not as much bad as Billary will.
The country does seem to have changed somewhat. People just don't think like us anymore. I thought the amnesty revolt was a sign of something else, but maybe I'm wrong. Sigh....
BTW, your screen name is perfect for the occasion.
To you all McInsane is acceptable.
The guy needs to be in a “home” and it ain’t the White House!
