What else could have happened? We never had a good candidate, but there was no chance for a good candidate, because the “conservatives” were restless and ready to shoot down ANY conservative candidate who had any chance of actually winning votes. Romney struggled on because he’s a GREAT candidate and has money, but he couldn’t get enough conservatives from all the differentt places.

Huckabee took some of them, Rudy took some of them, McCain took some of them, Thompson took some of them.

But none of them could get enough. Thompson SHOULD have, since nobody really hated him, but he couldn’t ever get ordinary folks to vote for him. At least not enough. But rather than realise he was another Hunter only with better support, that just made things worse.

Now we have conservatives who hate McCain but are happy he’s winning because it means the other people they hate are losing.

There is no way we can win in November. The conservatives want to lose.
