If McCain is close in Naples, Romney has a problem.
Naples is in Collier County, and Collier County is one of only two counties in Florida that voted for Katherine Harris over Bill Nelson in 2006.
Bush got nearly 70% of the vote here in 2000 and 2004.
My informal poll of people I have talked to in Naples has Romney winning about 20:1 over McCain.
The only people not voting for Romney are the registered Democrats that I have talked to.
I haven’t spoken with a single McCain supporter yet.
Thanks so much for the info! I’m not at all familiar with Florida, and had no clue what the demographics of Naples might be. So, it looks like Naples is breaking heavily for Romney, exactly as one might expect. It’ll be interesting to start getting some exit polls from more moderate districts.
