“This is a nightmare.”

Absolutely. I’d rather Ron Paul have won than McCain.

I cannot believe anyone would vote for McCain for anything, for any reason - and have YET to read any reason from anyone explaining why they WOULD vote for him. Has our party been taken over from the inside by RAT operatives? Or do a majority of Republicans WANT to lose the White House by a 50 state margin? What are they thinking? Are they thinking AT ALL?

To hell with Hillary. How do we stop McCain, when he has the enthusiastic backing (as candidate, at least) of the mainstream media and The New York Times? Why would Rudy, who I’ve at least respected as a sane person who wants to protect our country, endorse putting this unstable, feeble old madman in the White House?

If McCain gets the nomination, I think I’ll join Rush and sit this one out. If this is the best our party can come up with, we deserve to lose.

"The life issues has always been the strongest issue for me, and say what people will, McCain has always voted pro life.

Don't count on that either. McCain has gone with democrats in congress on everything else. And voted against Minnesota Right-to-Life to preserve his McCain-Feingold Bill.

Make a decision a few days after NEXT Tuesday. Not today. There are many battles to be fought in a war. The last battle in a war is the one that is done correctly.

I am as negative on the future of the country as I have ever been. I honestly thought we had another 45-50 years before we reached this state. The erosion in the last 20 years is depressing. Our kids are truly and thoroughly screwed.

During the next debate, Romney MUST call McCain on the lies he’s told the past few days about his record. Short of that McCain will continue his momentum especially if Rudy backs him.

Can a person not on the ballot be drafted, i.e., Fred?

Sure, remember you really aren't voting for the nominee, any more than you vote for the candidate in the general election. In the primary you are voting for delegates to the party's national convention. Generally, in contrast to the electoral college, they are committed to vote for "their" candidate on the fist ballot. If no one gets a majority on that ballot, they are free to vote for anyone they wish. It gets messy.

But it may be the only hope.

Local FOX news just on.

Called for McCain, 36% Romney 31%, Rudy 15%, Huckabee and Paul (also ran).

News Alert (from AP via local Fox station) says Rudy *will* endorse McCain. That will probably make the difference.

I can't get too depressed that McCain won, because I'm not exactly exited at the notion of Romney winning the nomination either. "A pox on both their houses", kinda sums up my feelings tonight.

I held my nose for Dole. At least he was a Republican.

McStain is a independent jerkwad ans I cannot under any possible circumstances.....vote for a unstable, egocentric putz.

And so it goes.........

There are reasons for this happening, and I have previously addressed them in detail. Many mistakes were made by the Conservatives in the party. I am one, but I saw the errors and fought against them. There is a price to pay for doing stupid things with a election on the horizon. I hope what happened in Florida does not happen elsewhere, but it may over. The Moderates have spoken in Florida. It's payback.

Say hello to President Mrs. Clinton....It's gonna happen. I'm sure of it now.

Let’s hope Romney pulls out all the stops during the debate this week.

Republican debate tomorrow at the Reagan Library; don't know the time. Check your listings.

Well, if he had lost Florida, he may have had to make promises to conservatives. Don’t know if he would have kept them.

But if he thinks he can win without conservatives, it’s going to be hard being a conservaitve.

Nice to hear Senator Mel Martinez talking. “I THINK he will appoint good judges”. What about KNOWING!!!

Hey, McCain wasn’t my favorite either, but I think it’s civically derelict to not vote for him if he is the GOP nominee.

Each of these candidates have a right to be there. Using your theory I could say if Romney wasn’t in the race their votes would be higher because he’s taking their votes away. If you can’t win on your own, you can’t win.

LOL. He obstructed conservative judges with the Gang of 14. Judge Robert Bork, endorsed Romney. Please don’t insult the intelligence of the people on this forum.

McCain is a disaster.

You blind suckers who support the liberal RINO Romney are the ones who will truly have to suffer with your own consciences.

They’ve been really flooding over from DU lately trying to get Freepers to vote Dim either directly or indirectly (voting third party of staying home and sulking).
