Out of the RINOS, I prefer McCain.

Only because he can beat Hillary.

No he won’t, because Pubs like me won’t vote for McInsane. No way Jose. I could have barely stomached Guiliani because of his social stances, but at least he was an economic conservative. McLame is good on neither. He is a bridge too far. I’m sitting this election out if McStain is the nominee. No way, Jose. Of course, with McQueeg as President, there will be thousands of Jose’s in this country shortly if he were to win. If Hillary wins, things will go downhill so fast it will make people’s head spin. Then, 4 years of Hillary will make a decent conservative Republican look very good. It’s the old philosophy of you have to hit rock bottom before you can look up. I guess it’s the Pub’s time to hit rock bottom. No McInsane for Prez, ever. I hope he loses his *ss in the general election, and if he doesn’t, I’ll count the minutes before the Pubs figure out they made a major mistake in hiring this gnarled, vicious, petty little man, with a vindictive streak a mile long.

If Obama truly is what he is campaigning

Surely you jest.

Whatever. The GOP can go piss up a rope as far as I’m concerned. Apparently my choice is between a guy who stomps on the First Amendment or the evil boogieman Hitlery. Wow, I can choose between a lib with an (R) next to his name or a lib with a (D) next to her name!

BOB DOLE WINS FLORIDA!!!

Looks like a repeat of 96, only that Dole got a higher percentage in '96 than McCain will get in '08.

The Republican Party cannot be "moderate". If it is it will be a perpetual minority.

Moderates like to talk about getting rid of the conservatives, but then they won't win any elections. Not that they would care, they were very happy as a minority for decades. It was comfy.

In order to get 51% of the vote we need a Reagan conservative.

John McCain won't win in November, he is a lousy candidate. He is moderate and knows little about big issues and what he knows is often wrong. He is not conservative and does not like conservatives.

He will sign the fairness doctrine in a heartbeat.

McCain wants to win without conservatives, he doesn't think he owes us anything even if we did get him elected in November. He has it in for conservatives and will try to hurt us. even if we put him over the top.

And there are millions of Dems and Indies who will make up the diff

Which is why McCain may just win it all and simultaneously preside over the biggest crushing down ticket that Republicans have ever seen.

I am not to optimistic about 2008. :-}

Now if we could only get rid of the openly pro-culture of death John McCain and the deceptive pro-culture of death Mitt Romney.

Here's to a brokered convention with a true conservative nominee...Fred Thompson.

I was a Fred supporter, but now I finally made up my mind, and Romney will get my vote in the primary.

If McCain starts running away with this, I highly suspect a very viable 3rd party candidate will emerge.

Nah. I just think the country is relatively resilient and can survive Hildabeast. The party cannot survive McCain. Hillary's failure would strengthen conservatism quite immediately.

You are correct. We survived Carter and, although we were damaged, we came out a lot better for it. I believe the same will happen if Hillary is elected. It will not be the end of the world...or the country. It will be the great cattle drive back to the GOP base from RINOland. McCain will dilute our party to an extent that we will no longer be conservatives.

No pain no gain...and sometimes you have to have surgery to get better.

McCain 98, Romney 65. The rest are a bit fuzzier. Iowa is reflected in most totals and will more likely add to Romney and subtract from Huckabee when the numbers are really put together later. Huckabee doesn’t have delegates for the number he should proportionally have won, or so I have been told.

You should have listened to me — straight from the “horse’s mouth.” Apology accepted. Thank you. I am now watching Rudy Giuiliani speaking to supporters on Fox News who is very, very gracious. I realize it’s a heated primary fight, but let’s all treat each other fairly and appreciate one another.
