DeMint would be an excellent pick. He’s a far more principled conservative than most Republicans in the Senate.
SC Governor Mark Sanford would also be great.
To: icwhatudo
I haven’t got a lot to hope for in this so here it all is: I hope Mitt is not the winner and Huckabee is at least 3rd.

If MYTH is the nominee in November I am staying home.No problem. After all, we have people saying the same for every candidate. Mitt, I believe, has the lowest numbers of voters saying the same. I'd like to have Fred or others who are more conservatives, but they tried and didn't make it.

Medved had David Brooks on his program today. Brooks says that Romney was more liberally on fiscal matters during his MA guv years when the Cato Institute only rated Romney a "C"--the same fiscal rating that the Cato Institute gave NM guv Richardson.
Brooks' other telling crit of Romney is that he said for all the Q&A forums for Romney, he's never once seen Romney challenge a questioner. Brooks said if the questioner asked a question against the "No Child Left Behind" thrust, Romney would answer in a manner indicating he was against it...if a questioner asked a question in favor of the "No Child Left Behind" thrust, he would answer in a favorable manner. The answer was ALWAYS tailored to the disposition of the person asking.
Medved then came on & said that Romney has never vied for repealing McCain-Feingold.
