When I say teaching to the test, I’m talking about focusing on a standardized test. When scores on those tests are the only important thing. Never mind grades. If teachers are teaching (and I’m sure most are doing just that), there is no need to “teach to the test.” When I was teaching school, I taught what was in the curriculum, not my agenda. But, yes, because school boards and administration put so much focus on these test scores, we had to drop everything and focus on “teaching to the test.”
True. ABC has a special on tonight or perhaps they already aired it. Charles Gibson will be traveling along both sides of the border to show the problems there.
“Obama and Teddy are sooooo mean to HIllary. :-)”

There are a handful of “clerks” sitting in the podium just below the President but they are facing the audience as is the P.

Was that Louisiana Mary L. sitting directly behind the Joint Chiefs?
That shout “Oh Rah” from one of the younger military folks perhaps? Gave me a start!
Yep! He’s called out several times—at first I thought some Code Pinko crazies snuck in again this year!
“Our enemies in Iraq have been hit hard. They are not yet defeated, and we can still expect tough fighting ahead. Our objective in the coming year is to sustain and build on the gains we made in 2007, while transitioning to the next phase of our strategy. American troops are shifting from leading operations, to partnering with Iraqi forces, and, eventually, to a protective overwatch mission. As part of this transition, one Army brigade combat team and one Marine Expeditionary Unit have already come home and will not be replaced. In the coming months, four additional brigades and two Marine battalions will follow suit. Taken together, this means more than 20,000 of our troops are coming home.”
Whatever it was they were in SUPPORT Of PRESIDENT BUSH.

Sorry but I have to call you out on that one!

No. They don’t like the idea of spreading freedom and winning the war. That goes contrary to their party and nutty base.
