If I recall, he had a pretty good record as a prosecutor and he did do a pretty good job of cleaning up NYC (at least that’s what I hear - I’ve never been there).

I used to live in NYC. Rudy was a BIG improvement over his predecessor Dinkins. New York cleaned up quite a bit under Rudy's administration. I think a big part of the reason was that Rudy owed nothing to New York's black community, and had no reason to pander to it

Yeah, isn’t it amazing what you can get done if you don’t have to spend all your time and energy on “pay backs”?
