You so called conservatives that will vote for McCain for president if he wins the nomination will hurt the conservative movement for decades. Au contraire. It is you purists who are willing to facilitate election of socialists with ACU ratings in the single digits (Hillary or Obama) over a Republican with an ACU rating of 82 (McCain) who will set the conservative movement back decades.
No matter what you think of McCain, he is better than any of the RAT candidates. Get a grip already!

Thank you for proving that at least one conservative on FR has common sense.

I find it hard to get excited about someone I don’t want. I’d almost rather have a known enemy rather than a theoretical (but not actual) friend.

It’s not only what kind of candidate McCain is versus Hillary or Obama, but what the overall effect of a win by him would have on the party.

-In 4 years wed be stuck with McCain again - at least as a candidate and hell be 76 years old,
-
no, he’d be 76 years old and won’t want to run again.
If hillary wins, expect a lot of IRS audits on republicans who dare challenge her. And she would run again.

A number of disgruntled Florida freepers don't quite have the guts to go to the polls to mark for McCain, but by staying home, they're voting for him anyway.
Some folks never learn they shouldn't shoot themselves in the foot because of some misdirected principle....JUST SHOOT AT THE FRICKIN' ENEMY!

If the unthinkable happens and that twisted troll gets nominated, I don;t know what I will do. I’ll never vote Democrat. More likely third party.
If anybody else wins thje primary - Huckleberry, JulieAnnie or Romney, they will get my support.
I can;t believe the Republicans in America are stupid enough to nominate that damn fool McCain for President. Its a certain road to what the media is working towards - a Democart victory.

Hold whatever you need to, take a look at what they’re really running on, committing to do, and doing — and vote.

I’ll feel as badly if McCain wins as I will if Romney wins. Come to think of it, I’m already feeling poorly.

Its not only what kind of candidate McCain is versus Hillary or Obama, but what the overall effect of a win by him would have on the party. I don't see the party as set of fragile china that cannot withstand McCain's election. I believe we are a lot stronger than that.
What will really weaken the party is losing in November and having the RATS in control of House, Senate, and WH.
