I really do agree with your statement that” this will devolve into a full blown Dem. race war, with the Clinton’s trying to pit all sides against each other and coming out on top”. I fear that also.
On FNC they just said it will be a Clinton/Obama ticket and I think that has been the plan all along!
Why aren’t the Klintoons ever to blame for what they do to others and to themselves???

I just believe they know it is a history making team and they know it will unite and fire up their voters. It will happen, no doubt in my mind. It was the plan all along.
Obama taking Veep after the Clinton’s have turned this into a racially divisive race and likely stealing the election will be humiliating . . .
I have actually thought this all along.....from the very beginning. A way to bring greater attention/"excitement" to themselves.....otoh....of late, it's looking more "real" than fake....(not that anything is ever real with the Klintoons).
It would be political suicide for Obama. Bubba ended AlGore's career and Obama's not going to let Hillary end his.

Nahh, if Obama was Hillary’s VP he would share the blame for all her screw-ups and get no credit for anything she does right. And have no influence in either. She would end his career.
