We get to SAM's and just start loading up the cart when our oldest daughter calls to let us know that she had a busted pipe and about 18" of water in the basement. So instead of getting a truck full of goodies at SAM's we spent the better part of last night getting pumps going, moving water and all sorts of other groovy things in the balmy 30 degree dark:-)
This morning was spent wet vacing the floor and getting the furnace and water heater dried out. The daughter's basement is more cellar than basement and the floor is very irregular. By a lucky twist a fate the furnace and the water heater were on the two highest parts of the floor so the water did not get to any of the internals of either piece of equipment. So as of this evening it looks like everthing is working okay. And forunately nothing of any great value was lost. A few Christmas decorations and a couple of old light fixtures were the only things of any value that we had to toss out.
I did suggest though that there were easier ways to clean out the basement, foutuantely I was not assualted by my wife our daughter:-)
