It’s hard for me. I’ve been involved in the pro-life movement since before I went to college. I’ve done the abortion clinic pickets, the handbills, the march for life. It’s always been a serious issue for me.

However, I do cut non-politicians a lot of slack on the subject. So many people I talk to have simply never thought about it, because they never HAD to think about it. They don’t make decisions, they never had an abortion, or knew anybody who did. They just thought “let the woman choose” sounded like the right answer.

Many people, when confronted with reality and forced to actually make a decision, come to the pro-life side, because it’s the right side.

Maybe that’s why I’m so accepting of pro-life conversions — I’ve seen so many. I’ve seen men of my own age who say they are pro-choice, but a 10-minute talk and they realise they need to be pro-life.

My church is very involved as well, sponsoring women’s clinics, some of our people work in those clinics, we also have the woman who works in our county’s abstinence program, we do the life-chains, anyway we get regular reports of girls who come in scared of their parents, frightened for the future, told by everybody that they should just abort their baby, but knowing deep down that it just isn’t right.

Anyway, I’ve rambled.
