What has McCain done to his country since he came home?

I can find a quote from Rick Santorum that the first Bush tax cut would have been much larger if not for McCain’s opposition.

Could that had meant we wouldn’t needed a stimulus now? Who knows? I never served. Does that mean my opinion doesn't matter?

HUCK: Would you accept the VP from Macaca? yes/no. I would love to know that! :)

Oh, I think the answer to that is quite clear.

I started on my absentee Ballot last Saturday. I sent aside my pick for the Republican Presidential Primary and voted no on all the California Democrat/Arnold pork filled props. Every day since then I have looked at the ballot and tried to come to terms with the Republican candidate, thinking one would begin to stand out.

Today I mailed it in without choosing anyone. The thought of Billary sickens me, but even with that in mind I can’t, in good faith pick any of the above. I have voted 100% Republican since 1980, now I feel homeless.

Trust McCain? A daunting task. He has more questionable baggage than an El Al airliner flying from Mecca after the Haj.

ROFL!

I'm with you on most of what you wrote. Two of those you mentioned would be moderately better than Hillary (hint: not McCain or Giuliani) but what a depressing load of dingbats!

From the gentleman that said Romney belongs to a cult.

What Mc Cain was opposing was the run away spending. He now supports making the Bush tax cuts permanent plus he has a few new ones of his own that Jack Kemp helped him formulate. If you want to continue earmarks and pork barrel spending, then vote against Mc Cain. If you want someone who will have the courage to veto those things, vote for Mc Cain.

Thanks, but this gives no indication that he wouldn’t support Romney. Prehaps not McCain or Huckabee given his frequent negative comments about them, but it’s clear he would vote for Romney.

This is the price the GOP has to pay for building the “big tent party” based on eveyones idea instead of their true base, Conservatives. While President Bush hasn’t been Conservative’s best friend it’s the Specters, Collins, Snowes and Hagels that have drove the stake in the GOP’s heart.

This weekend I am going to go over McCain rollcall votes and compare them with Hillary. I will let you know the results.

He said “no candidate.”

Your powers of self-delusion are amazing.

In the end he will, because he’ll come to his senses and realizes having to look at Shrillary and Bubba’s antics for for 4 more years...is much too unthinkable!

But then again, he’ll have material for 4 years.

But then again, he’ll have material...trust me El Rushbo!

He makes a good argument about the country getting ruined on the hypocrats watch, but my feeling is it’s not worth the risk to damage it beyond the point of return either!

I never thought I'd say it either, but here we are. I may be writing in Fred's name.

I will be writing in Fred's name. My conscious won't let me vote for any of the present candidates.

That would be useful. I also would like to see a side by side comparisson between Mc Cain and Romney on all pertinent issues, but when it comes to Romney I would like to see his positions before and after he started running for President.

I think Rush has had his senses numbed by the hot young blond he is dating.

Haven't heard this. Who is it?

There was a picture of her posted by someone on FR yesterday. She’s 30 or 31, blonde and very hot. Can’t blame Rush for going brain dead. It’s happened to the best of men.

Rush might have material, but he won't have a forum in which to offer it if Hillobama win the WH. The "Fairness Doctrine" is waiting in the wings.

Neither will the Internet exists as we know it today. Places like FR will either be outright banned, or regulated and "moderated" into meaninglessness. Remember what Hillary said after Drudge broke the Lewinsky scandal (something about how the Internet needs 'oversight')?

But there’s soooooo much other damage to be done, hell the beest even gave us a glimpse with her IDEAS for America and all those presents under the tree commercial...

universal healthcare etc.

He said no candidate is a down-the-line conservative. Neither was Bush, and neither was Reagan. He did not say he was unlikely to support any candidate.

Here's a link to some more stuff Rush said about Romney if you have any doubt he would vote for him:

Mitt Romney's Inspiring Speech

Here's an excerpt from near the bottom:

"Now, just a couple final thoughts here on the Romney speech and the atmosphere surrounding it. As I mentioned, I don't endorse candidates in primaries, but Romney certainly should have our attention in a good way."

You're stretching Rush's words to imply he was saying something he clearly wasn't.

Good for you.

The RNC powers-that-be need a wake up call.
