Well, no cult-group-member is going to get my vote for a Presidential Candidate. Being a member of a non-Christian cult group is an immediate disqualification for me. It doesn’t matter who else is running in the election either for Democrat or Republican. No cult-group-member gets my vote.
AND, if that isn’t bad enough, there is something that another FReeper posted about how liberal Romney is (for those who don’t care about voting in as President a cult-group-member)...

Well, are you saying that there are enough “cult-group-members” to vote in Romney as one of their cult-members? I don’t think so. And I don’t believe the majority of Evangelicals will vote into the Presidential position a non-Christian cult-group-member.
And for those who don’t care about voting in a cult-group-member into the President’s office, there’s the liberal Romney record, which makes Clinton look like a conservative... LOL!

As I recall, they called JFK a “cult” member, and when he became president, Lincoln was still pretty much an devout agnostic.

Maybe some did. But, from the authoritative sources, dealing with basic, historic and Christian doctrines, the Catholic church fits into the core essentials of the Christian faith. However, the Mormon teachings and doctrines are *totally unrecognizable* in *any form* as Christian teaching and doctrine, and thus qualify — very much so — as a “non-Christian cult group” without a doubt. Any of the Christian seminaries around this country (and the world) would classify the Mormon teachings and doctrines as *cult teachings* — without an exception (with any one of those seminaries).
So, while there may have been those who objected to Kennedy, because of his Catholic connections, it was something else that most people were objecting to, and not that he was part of a “cult group” — but rather that he might be taking orders from the Pope (describing this in a simplistic way...).
As far as Lincoln is concerned, from what I’ve read of his speeches, Lincoln goes *far beyond* any current-day Presidential candidate in what he stated to the public in regards to the God of the Bible and how God interacts in our society and in our country. I would take a “Lincoln” any day of the week, over a cult-group-member... thank you... LOL!

I don’t like it either - which is why my money no longer goes to the GOP.
But, I saw that the other way does not work as we never reach perfection. We only grow either conservative or liberal. There will be no quitting and starting over, there will be no massive revolt against free government entitlements from a population of “takers” suddenly willing to give them up and get a job and go back 100 years to the way it was before. They know nothing of “before” they know little or nothing, and, if anything, just what they have seen in a very few years.
You have to be able to move on your enemy - not wait for him to win all and get the population of “takers” so mad at him that they will suddenly seek out a conservative to solve all.
If you are not willing to “subvert your enemy” in whatever way you can, how could you ever hope to win anything?
Consider this a battlefield and use the tools you have to fight until the enemy loses - not hiding back until he gives the population to you without even a fight. You don’t win wars expecting a perfect army, a perfect battle, and a perfect leader. You go with the best you have and fight to the death.
To live in denial of the facts does not win elections, does not progress anything but liberalism.
We have two choices - we either move as far conservative as we can in this election, or we let it move farther toward liberalism/socialism.
And we need those willing to fight as a team - not an army of those involved in mutiny.
We also show disrespect to our soldiers who do fight the enemy in Iraq with whatever they have, when we sit back and wait until we have a perfect leader, a perfect army, a perfect battlefield before we get our little feet wet.

I have no problem with northeners. Although many in the South do. The reason is that the north won over the south in the Civil War and there is still loyalty to the confederates. This would have been true in the north if they had lost the war.
Another reason is the put-down directed at Texas and the depiction of the south as ignorant country hicks in many cases.
You don’t get that in the media in interviews with northerners, easterners.
If you will notice how they treated George Bush as stupid because of his accent. That man was never stupid - but the easterners always feel superior.

I would hope that Mass is not as I have pictured it - but people judge a state by what they hear, what they see and like it or not, by who represents them in government.
I disrespect them for that. I was impressed with Boston when I visited as the people were friendly - we loved it.
But, I have a very bad taste in my mouth over the congress and the antics of Washington and how George Bush was treated. All of that came from the east. You did not see that from the West or other states - the east.
So, a reputation is formed by the representatives’ actions.
Don’t blame me for not liking that representation.
You good eastern people need to increase your numbers and turn it around. I am sure it must make your lives miserable.
What a miserable waste of taxpayer money - the lifetime salaries of congress and the power-grabbing social nonsense in the congress to pad their own pockets further while they sell us down the river.
Just a few good people to actually work for the taxpayers and take care of this country - that is all we ask.

Although I'm sure Mitt is a fine gentleman, even without PR, I have too many unaddressed reservations to support him.
