Hello, the Iraq Parliament voted for Sharia Law back in 2005. That tells me they're not interested in democracy and want to run their own country. They're a sovereign nation now. We did our jobs. You want to stay there until the end of time fighting what is now essentially a police action and trying to pick off terrorists at random, go for it. Hope you don't have kids at draft age, because there will be a draft if the war continues.
All that crap Ron Paul spews about how our founding fathers not wanting to fight our battles in the enemys neighborhood is historically and histerically inaccurate as the first war we fought as an independent nation was against arab terrorists (1790-1825) and Jefferson built our Navy for just that purpose.
And Paul voted to go after the terrorists initially too. He would in fact leave behind a small contingency of special-op forces to go after bin Laden and the Taliban. He would also stop enforcing UN resolutions and intervention in ME nations that is fueling terrorism.
The draft is obsolete. So you can get use to that as well.
Sharia law is not the supreme law of the land in Iraq, but it’s recognized.
We are there now to deter future attacks. Beats waiting for another 9-11, don’t you think?
Would this small contingency of special forces that Ron Paul want’s to leave in the middle east look anything like Jimmie Carter’s Delta Force hostage team?
I’ll give Ron Paul this, however, I thought that Ron Paul did have a point in that debate exchange with Guiliani about our policies (that W changed, thank god) having been a cause of 9-11, especially the UN santions on iraq that starved millions of ‘mostly women and children’ (said George Gallowy).
Starving millions of the ‘Arab Nation’ with those santions did, in my opinion, inspire the 9-11 pan-arab fascist (no, they weren’t ‘religious’ at all as evidenced by the huge liquor bills they ran up at the strip-clubs they attended) hijackers to sacrifice themselves on Saddam’s mission to attack America.
