McCain has the edge if you use the “Devil you know may be better than the devil you don’t know” theory.

Romney's record is the complete opposite of his rhetoric. He's like the convict who found Jesus right before his parole hearing... "I know I did bad things, but I am a new person. Trust me."

But in the end I will end up voting for any but Giuliani.

To me the difference is that Romney will at least pander to conservatives even if he isn’t sincere about being a conservative.

McCain won’t even listen to us.

So of the 2 I prefer the candidate that will at least listen to conservatives.

I personally don’t see how Romney could be worse than McCain. McCain’s record is worse than Hillary’s. At least Romney talks conservative today. McCain comes from a conservative state, and has no excuse for leaning to the left. Romney may have leaned to the left, but if so, only to placate a liberal constituency.

Romney is apparently preferred by folks like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, etc. Even read recently that Jeb Bush steered his political advisors to Romney, though he would not endorse anyone.

McCain, on the other hand, is endorsed by the media and by Democrats. Not a very comfortable thought to me. He has a few conservative Senators supporting him, but you’ve got to remember that they are his close friends and colleagues.

Just look at the list of things McCain has screwed conservatives over... Campaign finance reform, tax cuts, amnesty, Guantanamo, terror interrogation, judgeships and the McCain insurrection, now he’s pushing global warming... The list goes on and on without end.
