While I think it stinks that FDT is pulling out, it leaves me asking a question that I haven’t heard anyone asking:
Since a lot of Freepers and other conservatives have been bemoaning the lack of conservative presidential candidates, who out there SHOULD be running for POTUS?
Why don’t we draft THAT person? Put $$$$ behind THAT person?
If we want a conservative to run, well, let’s find one, go get them and not take “no” for an answer.
Just a thought........
Duncan Hunter. Problem is he’s not got any traction and it’s late in the game!

Ron Paul is already in the race. :)
Alan Keyes is on the ballot. I know the Dem Media wants you to forget that, but...
... You mean “drafted”, like Fred was?
IMO, easy. Newt Gingrich, who actually would be in a race (and walking away with it) if Fred had not run.
But... unlike Huckabee, Fred and some others, he knew from the start that it would take real money (he was looking for commitment to raise $30M)... and, he is probably one of few real conservatives with a chance to win who is most hated here on FR (he is a “whoremonger”, “Hillary sympathizer”, “bought into global warming”, “damaged”, “too much baggage”, “can’t win” etc. etc.)
Actually, I think Ron Paul (who is not a conservative) will get more votes in FR poll than Newt... but I’d be happy to be wrong and surprised if a poll like this were conducted - at the very least it could be interesting.
