I completely disagree. I think neither of them stood a chance against the media push that started long ago for McCain, then Giuliani, then Romney, and most recently, Huckabee. Unfortunately, the media has waaaaay too much to do with who conservatives nominate.

I am positive that either man would have stood a far greater chance against the Democrat nominee than any of the spares who are left.

If neither Thompson nor Hunter could win in a REPUBLICAN primary, what makes you think they would win in a general election?

(Other than the MSM tin-foil hat conspiracy.)

I agree with all of that, but one has to work with the reality as it is, not how it ought to be. Electability depends on context, however unfavorable or ugly.

I am positive that either man would have stood a far greater chance against the Democrat nominee than any of the spares who are left.

Electability includes having the ability to get your party's nomination.
