Only because of NYC, which is so blue that it even went for Mondale in 84. That means us upstaters, even with these winner-take-all primaries, get no voice whatsoever. Its pathetic. The NYC area makes up almost 70% of the state's population. What sort of voice do you think the upstaters should have?

It’s actually less than 50%. Closer to 45%, I believe.

NYC has 70% of the population but only 10% of the land (if even that), concentrated in a piece of land that juts out from the rest of the state. If you ask me, it just doesn’t fit.
Upstate New York has a population comparable to that of North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, Indiana or Arizona. It deserves a say.
