What I meant was that in ECONOMIC terms, the employee pays both parts. If you are an employer, you pay 10 an hour for a guy who can do stuff worth 10.01 (example). You can't pay 10 PLUS the 75 cents of SS and keep the employee. Thus, you actually pay him less, meaning the BURDEN of the tax falls on him. Every conservative economist has been saying this since 1938, and the dems always poo-poohed it -- until now that it serves their purposes.

I did not mean that you weren't writing the check to Uncle Sam.
