While I’m not enthused with Romney, he’d be a heck of a lot better than McCain and someone I could vote for. One poll is nice, it’ll be interesting to see if other polls confirm this.

Yes, I agree, Romney would be better, but NOT good enough! I think if Romney, McPainintheass, Guliani, Huckabee are nominated, you will see Obama or Hillary win the WH. Why should anyone vote for another Bush moderate, we've had 8 years of it already and people want change.

If that was true, Romney, McPainintheass, Guliani, Huckabee would not be the leading candidates, and Thompson would have finished better than one point ahead of Romney. I just do not believe this line of thinking right now. People want change, but for some reason, they want really weird, freaky change. McCain is grabbing a butt-load of independent votes. I think Bush's "Compassionate Conservative" coin phrase is hurting the conservative movement.
