Huckaspeak:

Lie: Anything that exposes Huckabee’s flip flops and evasion of issues.

Truth: Anything that makes Huckabee look good.

Huck wants amnesty for illegals (in-state tuition as well) but if you are a patriotic American citizen with dual citizenship he wants to make you a criminal for using your other passport or voting in another country’s elections.

Sure way to lose all ex-pat and dual citizen voters.

People don't care, if politicians change their minds on an issue, if they end up on the right side of an issue. What people don't like and the 'flip-flopper' charge sticks, is when politicians take new positions for political purposes and don't have the heart and soul in the new position. This is the problem for all 4 top GOP Presidential candidates.

McCain is the Godzilla of all amnesty politicians, his plan could bring in 60 million new bodies. He says he's heard the voice of the people and will enforce the border first, BUT he has done NOTHING in the meantime to enforce the border. McCain bloviates while the Congress defunds the fence. I cannot understand any Republican voter, who cares about border security voting for McCain. Who are these people voting for him?

Huckabee was active on the open borders, give the store away style 'compassion' as recently as 2005. He copies Mark Krikorian's immigration plan. Can one believe Huckabee on this issue? I haven't heard him take anyone on with the immigration issue.

Giuliani is similar to Huckabee in this.

Romney seems to be no better. Where's his passion for enforcing the border?

Last June July, I thought that the candidate, who took on illegal aliens with passion, with consistency, with example after example, with a true change of heart, could lock up the GOP nomination. None of the candidates did this and so, no one has locked up the nomination.

Just from a political point of view, the illegal invasion is an issue that cuts deep into the Democrat base of Black voters, the most affected group of Americans, blue collar workers and union members.

These GOP politicians are leaving all these votes on the floor, all they have to do, is pick them up. I've thought for decades that Republican Politicians ought to be fired just for political incompetence. Why give them money, when they don't know how to get the biggest political bang out of it? What GOP politician has actually been an outstanding politician since Reagan left office in January 1989?

I sort of like the idea of getting rid of the IRS but, Huckabee’s record as Governor of Arkansas speaks VOLUMES.

“Step 4 in the Nine Point Plan specifically forbids employers from hiring illegals.”

Well, gee, make it a law and then it really ought to work. Oh WAIT, it already IS a law.

Huckabee is a liberal jackass.

I went looking for something re the Mexican Consulate for $1.00 deal in Little Rock, and found this wealth of information about the Huckster.

http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/01/13/reagan-conservatives-say-huckabee-not-one-of-us/

Everyone seems to forget the DEAR WAYNE parole scandals now, but that was the first red flag, and it was ignored.
Granting pardons and clemency to over a thousand criminals, rapists and murderers, does not make anyone a “Christian”. It makes them a wimpy little fool.

Larson reminds me of Parsons from 1984.
He is just a wee bit to Orwellian for me.
I could see him wanting to take our 2nd amendment right away.

It's funny that non of the anti-Huckabee posters address the fact that Lars was caught in a bold face lie.

This is a systematic approach by the so-called conservative talk radio. Unfortunately, not enough people have the courage to call them out on their misleading tactics.

“I could see him wanting to take away our second amendment right”

You absolutely must be confusing Lars Larson with somebody else. I would say, more than any other subject, Lars defends and promotes the Second Amendment. Lars has concealed carry himself and recently spent a lot of air time defending a teacher in Southern Oregon’s right to concealed carry.

Another poster confused Lars Larson with Gary Larson of Far Side fame.

Lars has been a consistent defender of our second amendment rights but that didn’t stop him from supporting Romney.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Lars is a strong supporter of gun rights, and carries concealed himself.

You are the typical Huckster supporter. The only way you can make your guy look good is to lie about everyone else . Lars Larson should not be taking your hit. Huckabee is ALL about amnesty and everything else bad on immigration. I’d bet you were never an anti illegal immigration supporter.

I’m sending your little hit piece to Lars. Perhaps he’ll address your propaganda today.

BTW, the democrats like open borders Huck:

A DEMOCRATIC PARTY STRAW POLL

It may be snowing here in Washington, D.C., but the sun is apparently shinning on Congressman Ron Paul, who edged out Senator John McCain in the 2008 Democratic Party Republican Straw Poll. Meanwhile, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani ended up in a familiar place: sixth.

Top 3 results: Candidate %

Rep. Ron Paul 25.72%

Sen. John McCain 24.73%

Gov. Mike Huckabee 17.17%

Plagiarist Huckabee???

I was listening to Laura Ingraham talking with Center for Immigration Studies Mark Krikorian yesterday . Huckabee claims Krikorian devised his ‘immigration’ policy for him. Mark said he had been contacted by several people and wrote up a brief ‘what had to be done list’, by no means a complete policy that was published some time ago.

Huckabee simply took that article, added little to it and implied Mark and Huck worked out this new ‘policy’. Mark has never worked with or endorsed Huck. Never. His supporters made it sound like CIS had worked with him on this and thereby endorsed him for Pres.

Krikorian says, [Well, at least he finally credited me with writing it]

http://www.lauraingraham.com/

Cool clips (Laura365) NEW! Mark Kirkorian on the immigration issue.(pay to play)

This seems to be the article Krikorian was talking about that Huckabee hijacked. http://www.cis.org/articles/2005/mskoped052305.html Ten Points for a Successful Presidential Candidate

By Mark Krikorian National Review May 23, 2005

BACKGROUND:

http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2008/01/wapo-huckabee-p.html

“I have created a nine point immigration policy that says there is a 120 day period in which people go to their home country and start the process from the back of the line. —Mike Huckabee, Republican Debate, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jan. 10, 2008.

This isn’t coming from a Romney campaign release; this is the Washington Post”

“When the campaign announced the governor’s nine-point immigration plan on Dec. 6, it noted that it was “partially modeled” on Krikorian’s proposal three years earlier. But Huckabee took credit for the plan in the Republican debate on Thursday night, and Mitt Romney’s campaign is crying foul. A Romney “Fact Check” said that the Huckabee plan had lifted “whole sections of Krikorian’s editorial without quotes or direct attribution.”

That might be because Romney is a vast improvement over Huckabee and anyone with any concern about this issue knows it. In fact, Lars had this to say about Duncan Hunter, “HE’S THE BEST”

And he was right.

Obviously, the "new" media and Republican hierarchy have singled out Huckabee for attack. Katherine Jean Lopez at NRO even has demanded that Fred Thompson stay in the race to diminish Huckabee's chance.

Meanwhile, many of the same nit wits are pimping Romney despite the fact that his record is the most liberal of any candidate running and despite the fact that he is an habitual liar.

The same types had no problem demanding social conservatives and 2nd amendment advocates compromise their beliefs to support Rudy Giuliani.

The double standards are appalling.

Its the level of their anti-Huckabee vitriol. They are acting so emotionally they can no longer think rationally.

Free Republic has become the mirror image of the Democratic Underground; FReepers the mirror image of DUmmies.

Rather sad to see.

Lars was critical of Huckabee's immigration plan because he said that it didn't use a SS match system to crack down on illegals. Lars said that the reason Huckabee's proposal doesn't include this provision is because he knows it would work.

I agree with Lars that it would probably work, but Huckabee's plan does call for a SS match system. Romney's plan calls for ID cards for Immigrants. His plan is rediculous because the illegals are pretending to be citizens with their stolen IDs. Romney doesn't call for a SS match system because he knows that it would work. Lars lied about Huckabee's proposal on the air.

Its ok to criticize Huckabee's record but its wrong to Lie about it. FReepers hate it when Fox News spreads false rumors about Fred and make fun of him but if the 'new media' is lying about someone you don't like, its ok. And please ping Lars.

The accusations that Huckabee plagiarized Krikorian’s plan are false. Fist Huckabee contacted Krikorian and told him he intended to use his plan. Huckabee sited Krikorian’s plan as the basis for his plan. Huckabee explained that he believed that Krikorian’s plan was very good and that he couldn’t write a better one so he used it. Whats wrong with adopting a great illegal immigration plan from someone who has been a leader on the issue for years?

Huckabee has a tough road to hoe, with these types of misleading and false attacks constantly leveled at him.

Agreed. Don’t count Huckabee out yet. Right now the conservative, pro-life vote is split between Thompson and Huckabee. Huckabee should do well in the panhandle area of Florida, esp if Thompson drops out and conservative, pro-life vote isn’t split. Guiliani will split up liberal vote taking votes away from McCain and Romney vote a bit in Florida.

NO HE DID NOT! Listen to what Krikorian said. READ! LISTEN! I think you know exactly what Huckabee is.

Show us your past history fighting illegal immigration, or did you just show up to promote the snake oil salesman?

I go with what a man did and advocated when he had a chance to do something, ....

That's been my lifelong position on people in general and most especially slippery political forked-tounged candidates running for any office. Past performance is usually a good (or perhaps best) way to measure whether a politicians words of promise have any merit.
