It’s the hate that wears me down.

I can banter and joke, but some posters (not on this thread but others) are The Second Coming Of Ted Bundy, the vitriol gets wicked.

There are two sides to every story. Neither person is perfect.

That is the truth....I believe it comes down to basic respect. If you treat your partner kindly and with respect, your relationship will grow. Unfortunately, that old phrase "familiarity breeds contempt" seems to be true...I'm always amazed when husbands and wives are mean to each other...IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE.

We had some new friends we had started to hang out with. He was ex-LAPD, she was the classic abused wife. He would say such hateful things to her in front of us.

One day I told him if he couldn't be kind to the mother of his children in our presence, he was no longer welcomed in our home. (I swear that is what I said).

We are no longer friends with this couple.
