Well, I don't think you should catch heat for it:  I understand that woman are more in touch with their emotions than men, so a good cry once a month or so is ok in my book.  I can handle that.

And any decent man should be able to handle it.

My girlfriend is actually mentally ill, I think.  She can cry two or three times in an afternoon, literally.  And I'm talking about over nothing.  It's so bad that I remember the dates where she doesn't cry. 

In the first six months of our relationship, she cried every single time we got together.  Initially, I just wrote it off to her somewhat recent divorce but now I've realized she's just what I call an emosturbator - someone who masturbates their emotions.

It depends on the crying. Seriously, crying for no reason and just because is a major symptom of clinical depression. In a young person or a child, its often a signal of abuse or molestation.

I don’t cry often, but when I do, katie-bar-the-door. It means I’ve either reached my total limit of stress or some human or pet I love has died.

I’m not going to give you heat about it, but I will say in defense of some crying women...sometimes we’re just built that way. I know I am. I’m not trying to be manipulative, but when I get angry, it just comes out. Believe me, I don’t want it to. It just does. And it isn’t just reserved for the man in my life. If it bothers men that women cry, perhaps they just shouldn’t let it bother them so much.
