Your advice, and justification, would have applied equally well to Abe Lincoln, yet he was nominated and won the election.
If you really are/were a Fred supporter, you should try to learn something about how the nominating process works, and study some history, to learn how it has worked in the past.
Personally, if it's among Huck, Romney, and McCain, I'm not sure that I don't like McCain better anyway. As long as we have to have a liberal at the top of the ticket, we may as well have the most honest one. I can trust McCain a lot more than socialist Huck, or the guy who once bragged that he was to the left of Ted Kennedy.
Fred is out of the race, only if he wants out. No one has a lock on the race yet, so if Fred wants it, he could still have it.
