Sorry Fred. Really wanted you to win but now its time to get out. The longer you stay in and split votes with Huck and Romney, the more states McCain is going to win.

Personally, if it's among Huck, Romney, and McCain, I'm not sure that I don't like McCain better anyway. As long as we have to have a liberal at the top of the ticket, we may as well have the most honest one. I can trust McCain a lot more than socialist Huck, or the guy who once bragged that he was to the left of Ted Kennedy.

Fred is out of the race, only if he wants out. No one has a lock on the race yet, so if Fred wants it, he could still have it.

McCain has betrayed conservatives. I would never vote for him. Your assessment of Romney is harsh. I trust him.

It’s all about getting noticed - and sadly the media are not giving him the time of day. He is the one they fear the most and they are doing everything in their power to make sure that the multitude of people who get all of their knowledge of what is going on in the World and in politics from 30 minutes of evening news will not know who Fred Thompson is.
All weekend long the MSM including Fox had been talking about every candidate except Fred. They were even talking about candidates that came in behind him. Not once did I here the name Fred Thompson

I am afraid what we are seeing is the end of the Rush Limbaugh era of conservative media.
Rush is without a doubt is against McCain and seems to be angry that McCain is even being considered by the GOP as a top tier candidate. At the same time Rush is saying great things about Fred Thompson - asking SC voters to please vote for Fred but yet he ended up far behind in 3rd place with McCain the winner.

All we can hope for is that Fred or Mitt (my 2nd choice) dominates Super Tuesday and if not that maybe hope for a brokered convention where someone not running yet can be chosen.

I want Fred to stay in the race but, if Romney has a chance to beat the rest in Florida I’d vote for him there.

Your assessment of Romney is harsh.

You mean the truth is too harsh? Are do you deny that he bragged about being to Kennedy's left? Romney ran as a liberal for the Senate in Massachusetts, and governed as a liberal governor. Now he tells us he is a conservative? I don't believe him one bit.

Other than Fred Thompson I don't want any of the Republican candidates to be nominated. If he bows out, I will be forced to support the one I dislike the least which are in order:

Giulliani - He will be tough on crime, and govern the most conservatively of all the remaining candidates. I don't like his pro-abortion stance, but I believe he speaks the truth when he says he will nominate conservative judges.
McCain - I don't consider that he has betrayed the party just because he disagrees with my views. There is much to dislike about him, but he tells the truth more than the remaining.

Both of these mean would be far better than either Romney or Huck on the WOT.

I cannot judge between Romney and Huckabee. Both are hoping to win based on their religious affiliations, and neither are very honest. If either win the nomination, I may not vote in the general. (I might not be able to vote for McCain either, but I'd come closer to voting McCain than for either of these pretenders.)
