I’ll worry about that after the Chargers game.
GMen played the Pats as well as anyone has all year. Packers have had a great season and their WRs run very well after the catch and Favre can stymie a rush with his mobility.
The Pats are guaranteed nothing if they win today.
But seriously folks, FWIW, here's how I see the day playing out:
--If the Bolts were not a SoCal team in this weather they would have a chance
--If the Bolts had healthy Rivers and LT they would have a chance
--So, they have NO chance. This is a game they really DON'T have to play. End of story.
OK: if I hear "frozen tundra" one more time I think I will hurl. They defrost the turf up there, or am I dreaming? And yeah--it will be cold there--but the Giants don't play in Miami.
Here's how I see the factors coming together for the G-men to triumph:
--Overconfidence by the Pack; they killed us in our home opener. I was there and the Pack looked incredible
--Related to the above, we are a different team, esp. on dee.
--Steve Smith; his absence from USC this year was one reason they fell off. Look for Smith to have a great day
--While the GB O tackles are excellent, not so the interior line; Colledge is a babe in the woods and Fred Robbins, Barry Cofield and Antonio Pierce could have a field day up the middle
--MOMENTUM: the Giants have the eye of the tiger
At any rate, this could all be wishful thinking, but I am looking for payback for that 1962 NFL Championship loss to the Pack. I was in high school and lost five bucks to a kid I did not like.
Hopefully it will be a barn-burner. Good luck to the Pack and my beloved Giants, and may the best team win.
