OFFICIAL FR NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SUNDAY LIVE THREAD
JANUARY 20TH, 2008
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
3:00PM ET - CBS
NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
6:30PM ET - FOX
Giant fans hoping for a better outcome than the last time they had to travel to Green Bay for a championship game.
As a Giants fan, I of expect them to lose by 21. Eli will come crashing down to earth, as the winds cause his weak passes to fall into the hands of greenbay defenders.
As for my AFC team, the Pats, I expect them to win big. By 4 touchdowns. San Diego is full of overratted, trash-talking losers, lead by a head coach who only has a career because of emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman.
GO PACK!
I'm home. Let the games begin. Go, Pack Go...and Go Pats!! |
Are you ready for some football! : )
One game at time, please. Let's beat the Giants first.
My deepest fears, expressed earlier in the season but not expected to materialize, may be realized again. I am a life-long passionate Packer fan who grew up in CT when nobody rooted for the Pats. Over the years I began to root for the Pats also, starting with the season they lost to da Bears in the Super Bowl (Packer fans root against da Bears like us Red Sox fans root against the dern Yankees). So here I am for the second time in the last 11 years faced with the possibility my two teams might meet in the Super Bowl. What makes it even harder this time is that the Pats could go undefeated while on the other hand it is likely Brett Favre's last shot. ARGH!!! Go, Pack Go!! Go Pats!! Of course it could be the Chargers vs. the Giants too! |
The Packers are a young team, so it’s not at all likely that they will miss out on this chance. Favre isn’t calling it a career. He wouldn’t even do that when he sucked. He sure isn’t doing that when he’s played great.
As a Giants fan, I’d say you don’t have anything to worry about. The Giants choke under pressure and their secondary is banged up. GreenBay should win easily.
What impresses me about Mike McCarthy is that he will not allow his team to get overconfident.
They understand the tremendous rush the Giants defense has as a team.
The Packers will be ready.
Saw 3 people from Mass this morning that were headed to Green Bay for the game. (My brother as well...)
GO PACK!
And I'll tell you what. My SuperBowl was last week beating the Cowgirls. Because if the SuperBowl was going to be the Cowgirls and the Patriots, I would find something better to do, like FReep during that one.
But since the Cowgirls are gone, the NFC needs to win. I am hoping for a Chargers - Giants SuperBowl since my brother has seasons tickets to the Bolts. No matter who wins this game though, I want them to beat the AFC representative.
Should not be a factor this evening.
We have great respect for the Giants, and everyone knows what a great defensive line they have.
Until this year, my last great moment as a sports fans was wwatching the Giants blow out Minnesotta 41-0 in the 2001 NFC title game. It was a beautful sight. And they got my hopes up. And they got crushed by the Ravens in the superbowl. If the Giants were to somehow beat the Packers, they’d get destroyed the second time around with the Pats. So I’m expecting the worst, and am happy that the Giants at least crushed the hopes of cowboy fans this year. That’s enough for me right now.
Let's get us a GB/ Patriots Super Bowl!!!
I hope it is a good game at least. Either way, the G-men or the Pack needs this SuperBowl win!
