OFFICIAL FR NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SUNDAY LIVE THREAD
JANUARY 20TH, 2008
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
3:00PM ET - CBS
NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
6:30PM ET - FOX
I liked our chances against the Cowboys from the beginning, but was worried about the Pack early in the week. I began to gain confidence when i saw favre interviewed with a self-confident smile on his face. What nailed it for me was the trash talk from the Packers (woodson and harris) about the Giants playing dirty. I have followed the Giants closely for over 40 years, and that's one thing they are not: dirty.
I knew the Pack was distracted and overconfident when I heard that BS.
The champion will be determined by who is peaking 2 weeks from now. The Patriot's best ball may be behind them They still might beat my guys, but I will watch their body language and what they say in the run-up to the game. The G-men played them very well the first time and they just may beat them. To be continued...
Well, good luck. Don’t bet money.
I respect what you say GunRunner. Yes, but it is like Reaganite1984 is saying, there are not that many quality Quarterbacks out there, teams like the Bears can’t get a steady quarterback, etc. Favre’s performances still may not pail compared to what a young buck Wisconsin product Romo did last week or how Seattle’s quarterback did as well. I know, I watched one season, about 2 years ago, the Packers went nowhere and I felt then was the time to retire, but now, Favre can probably go on and maybe GB won’t be able to reach that pinnacle, just the way Romo may not be able to take the Cowboys all the way.
...and Bradshaw was a better runner for the field than Jacobs. That helped.
I'm glad that slimeball Al Harris got his comeuppance-after half-time Plaxico walked across to the Green Bay sideline and said "he can't cover me," not that the other coverage of Burress was any better.
I seriously wished someone would take that idiot by his dreds and throw him to the ground at certain points during this game.
When he started to cramp up in the second half I was grinning.
Hopefully, The Giants can get some revenge on that dirtbag Wilfork in a few weeks.
You’re a nut. Hahha. OK, whatever.
I was debating whether or not I should show my sorry ass on this thread.
Well, I guess I better change me tagline too! ROFL!
My hats are off to the Giants. Beating 3 teams on the road in the playoffs - has that ever happened before? They played a helluva football game.
That's one of them most impressive team football statistics I've ever seen.
Nope—I don’t bet.
You have shown yourself to be a man of honor to come here now. I am impressed. Us Big Blue fans appreciate your kind words about our beloved team.
I understand that NFL CBs need be confident, but the accusations were silly. Plax held a clinic for Harris...it was great to see.
If I'm reading the box score correctly, then Green Bay ran the ball 14 times for a grand total of 28 yards.
As I was watching the box score as the game wound down, it occurred to me that if you can't get any more than 28 yards on your home field, then, quite frankly, you don't deserve to go to the Super Bowl.
Danny White
boy did you pick it out ;)
He's such an unremarkable player that even Cowboys' fans can't spell his name correctly, he's so bad-a fourth or fifth receiving option-that Daryl Johnston was probably only one notch below him on the depth chart-and yet he's out there talking smack to Brandon Jacobs, of all people.
It boggles the mind.
LMFAO
Well yes. The Steelers 2005-2006 won the Super Bowl as the sixth seed in the AFC, for example.
