If all Fred has accomplished is to slap the paint off the Huck Delusion, then he's done the Republican Party a tremendous favor. I fear he will bow out now, and that's too bad. A substantive Republican has been stymied by a Cult of the Personality that comes close to a heresy of Christianity. It comes close to idol worship from the same set of misguided people who can't tell the difference between Society and Government, but wear a Republican label. A very confused bunch.

Thanks. I had to hit the backspace plenty of times, trying not to forget I'm a guest in Jim Robinson's house, and, in fact I had to re-read it a little while ago having become afraid I'd crossed the line. Not a pleasant evening in American politics. I'd like to pretend I don't remember when this Primary system became a Basketball Tournament, but I know all too well Entertainment Conquered Reality in our country a long time ago.
