Only because Iraq is now being viewed as a military victory, with casualties decreasing. I urge you not to take the issue switch too badly as it is good news for the troops; Dems have also been defeated in their efforts to undercut the troops. The Iraq talk is now that Iraq will retain an American presence similar to Korea. This means that AQ and Iraqi insurgents will lose hope and give up the fight. Our troops will thus be safer.
Our troops are currently in the field fighting and dying in an offensive to remove the insurgents/al qaeda from Iraq.
The American public has no sense of priorities.
