Sorry, Chuck. People who insist on tinkering with the US Constitution are anything but conservative. A conservative is one who works to "conserve" the Constitution.

Rolling back government to its constitutionally valid functions - that would be conservative.

Stacking the Supreme Court with nine strict constitutionalists -- that would be conservative.

Sending the military to the border to repel invaders with all available force -- that would be conservative. Etc., Etc.

None of the candidates meet all my preferences, but Thompson and Hunter both come close. None of the others rate any better than the Dems on Constitutional issues.

Huckabee wants to dictate, not preside. Dittos for McCain, Paul, Guliana, Hillary, Obama, and Edwards.

Would you apply that claim to the Founding Fathers who insisted on adding the Bill of Rights?
