IMHO, Thompson is the only one who can appeal to the religious right supporters of Huckabee, small 'l' libertarian supporters of Dr. Paul's domestic policies, keep the rest of our base and appeal to the independents and donkeys who are incensed against giving illegal aliens driver's licences.

You got it right, and yes, there are liberals that won’t vote dem if there’s an anti-illegal immigration candidate on the right. They may not vote at all, but if it’s two morons on that issue, they might vote left by default.

Fred has the broadest coalition of all the candidates, with geniune meaning behind it. That along with his concise views...is very threatening to Obama or Hillary. I’d like to face Hillary, though, because I figure it would bring us all out on that day. Along with Fred, it would increase our numbers.

The rest of them will only do so well in bring people out.

Good analysis but I'm amazed at those who believe that Fred has finally come alive. For those saying this, they were the ones who were not paying attention before. At the very least, they were believing the lies put out by the MSM.

Fred has been very much alive and Freepers have known for a long time that Fred is the one with real substance and definitely the most conservative of the lot.
