Its a sad state of affairs when all you can do is vote AGAINST rather than FOR ideas. Thats the problem I have with the GOP. Use fear to motivate us in voting but forget the ideas. We voted AGAINST Clinton in 92, and 96. Wanted a conservative and everyone sold out to Bush. Voted AGAINST GORE. 2004 voted AGAINST Kerry.
In the meantime we failed at reforming social security, reducing spending, eliminating government regulations (added prescription drug bill, NCLB) Where is the idea of freedom and liberty and less government in our lives (economically and socially?
Fiscal conservatives are few and far between and are my preference since we seem to be spending our way into oblivion.
Rudy has the best economic record of all. He cleaned up NYC, wants to cut capital gains tax and believes in freemarket ideas. When Larry Kudlow interviewed him this summer, Rudy’s policies are what we need for stellar economic growth.
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANY REPUBLICAN WHO DOES NOT SUPPORT MAJOR TAX CUTS AND HUGE SPENDING REDUCTIONS.
I will sit out and not vote. If a democrat is elected president, then maybe the GOP will get off its keister and truly support major economic and regualtory reforms. A shakeup would be good and we can get more Jack Kemp, Jeff Flake, Mike Pence and Tom Coburns elected who will actually take a meat cleaver to the bloated bureacracy.
It needs to be said with conviction by a candidate and not just a talking point to get elected.
Well, the one candidate that supports all of this (Paul) is the one that's bashed the most here, all because he wants to bring the troops home. Nevermind that most Americans want the troops to come home too, and that we've been in the Middle East for six years already. None of the issues that you've described above is being addressed by the other GOP candidates. It's the same-old, same-old. Let's eliminate the death tax, ban gay marriage, increase CAFE standards, promote "renewable" energy, etc. At the ABC debate, they asked the candidates why gas was so high & what they'll do to address it. All of the other candidates besides Paul talked about global warming, conservation...the same crap. Only Paul talked about our weak dollar and inflation as to why gas prices are high, and the fact that we're not increasing production domestically (and giving energy corporations huge subsidies). This is why the GOP is in the tailspin it's in. There's no sweeping oratory, no call to action, no telling Americans to sacrifice and be responsible for yourself. There's simply no inspiration. The GOP have completely jettisoned their traditional beliefs and they're going to get punished in the general election because of it.
Stop being a big baby! Voting and politics has been like that for the past 250 years. GROW UP!
