In this thread: Men who are not confident about their masculinity.
In addition, note that this is a budget car. It isn’t aimed at the $20,000 - $40,000 per vehicle market, nor the Big A$$ Truck market, nor the muscle car market.
ind another car at that price point with similar performance and then we can legitimately grouse.
well said!
“I know that these cars are all about efficiency and economy and all that, but could any REAL man drive one of those little sh*tboxes without first removing his testicles?”
Its designed for a country where there is no parking space. Real people drive mopeds in India. This car is for them to drive a more safe vehicle.
“One wonders, however, since they are Parsees, how they fare with the rising Hindu nationalists who want all other religions to be treated as Dhimmi”
Thats not true. Parsees and hindus get along just fine.
Exactly. Especially when you consider that the Rs 100,000 price tag was promised several years ago and since then inflation has probably grown 15-20% but Ratan Tata kept his promise to sell it for Rs100,000 . What a man!
The car is not designed for Americans. In fact its not even designed for most people who drive cars in India today.
People who can afford to shellout $6-7 grand for a car.
Its designed for those who currently cannot afford even that much. Millions who drive a moped that costs a $1000
Imagine driving your wife and kid on a moped through rain.
This car will make life safe for those people.
But I wish Tata uses the knowledge gained in this process and creates a vehicle specifically designed for the US market. I suspect they plan to do that which is why they want to buy Jaguar.
I am not sure if a REAL man has the kind of insecurities that would make him think as much about driving a small car or the Tata Nano as a challenge to his manhood.
I think manhood has more to do with the confidence of a man in his masculinity than on dumb reliance on gadgets and “macho-masculinators”.
It was a joke.
Well said C&S!! What’s more, the Shanghai Maglev train starts at the Pudong airport and ends in the middle of nowhere to the average Shanghainese resident.
Typical of insecure Chinese to counter progress in India with sour grape arguments like our Chicom-Charlie out here. You know what’s worse, the average Chinese can’t even afford to enter and view one of their most celebrated monuments - the Forbidden City in Beijing. I know tons of Beijingese who have never been there having lived all their lives in Beijing. So much for “affordability-conscious” Chinese. Atleast the average Indian can get a piece of his/her heritage and history. The Taj Mahal is way more affordable to the average Indian.
I had a Suzuki GS750 for many years. That thing had so much power I'd scare the crap out of myself whenever I tried to really open it up.
It was a stinkin' rocket.
Having travelled several times on the Metro,I can say that most people who are near a metro station, including daily wage labourers can afford it.
The only ones who can’t afford the Metro are those who live in areas where the grid has not extended to,yet & that includes several parts of Delhi, which are heavily populated.
You are correct, although, I’m not sure of all engine models.
But, yes all old Citroens especially the old four door black sedans are very popular. There is even a Citroen car club in the U.S.
2 or 3 Civic engines fused together.
The Fiats were for two-car garages. THe first car needed to be a tow truck.
It is what it is — basic, low-cost transportation.
