I'm with you, Justice. Bear_Slayer, you do seem to be coming from an honest desire to have pure conservatism. I think 99% of us on FR share that desire.

Politics, though, is sometimes about what is possible. Right now, our real choices in the Republican party are admittedly flawed. They are BETTER than the Democrat operatives looking to move into the White House, though.

I urge you to consider this. Otherwise, we could face four to eight years of a Jimmy Carter, who made us impotent when facing down Islamic facists in Iran. Or Lyndon Johnson, who weakened us in Southeast Asia and expanded the government's reach into our lives and pocketbooks.

Sure, the American people WOKE UP after the damage was done. Let's not let that happen again.

Respectfully,

Pinch me, this has got to be a dream. It's TOO surreal for words!

Um, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but exactly what do you think THESE eight years have been?

Dubya makes LBJ look like a piker!

Politics, though, is sometimes about what is possible

Economics is no about balancing your check book or running quickbooks for a small business.

Economics is about supply and demand.

Conservative economics says that if someone offers you a price too high for a product you don't want you won't buy it.

When that happens someone else will supply a product that you do want at a price you can afford.

The GOP is offering a product that many are choosing to avoid. The price is too high.

Instead of offering a better product other's encourage the many to continue to buy the same old crap.

No one will ever create a better product if the many within the GOP base don't walk.
