His biography is incredible and from a military perspective, screams leadership. That being said, he is so frustrating on immigration (he is beginning to sound better, cause I at least don’t feel that we can deport at 12 million, maybe just 2 million, lol), Campaign Finance Reform (damn McCain Feingold), and the tax cuts (at least he didn’t support increases). I just can’t get excited about any of the Republicans this year, though I have an aversion to Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee.

I don’t mean to be cynical, I just want to know: does being shot down and being a POW for 5.5 years make someone “scream military leadership”? Or did McCain have a very strong record of combat command before that? Again, history has shown that not every guy who wore the uniform was well qualified to be CinC.
This is where I get lost in the immigration debate. Why do we need to deport anyone? Why not just cut off all the freebies, oh I dunno, like JOBS, housing, food, free healthcare, the anchor baby thing, college tuition etc. etc. etc. If we would just have some balls and do this they would LEAVE ON THEIR OWN!
Funny you bring up Ron Paul...Of all the candidates out there (even if you don’t like him or agree with him), he is the most consistent. Period. No flip-flops.
Now, is that better than someone who changes position like the wind and happens to agree with your view (this week)... probablt not...by much.
