Dear Rush, Megadittoes. Typin' to ya with my currently nicotine stained fingers from my Western command center.

Thanks for the invite to share your support for Fred Thompson. But after surveying the political terrain I think that casting a vote for Thompson would be as useless as voting for Ronald Reagan, as they both appear to be in similar states of decomposition.( I know you appreciate irreverent humor Rush)

But seriously, when is your guy going to make some noise? I know he was more or less drafted to run, but does he expect to be coronated as well? Why isn't he campaigning and winning elections like Huckabee? Why isn't he making appearances on national television the night before elections like Huckabee? Why isn't he seeking the exposure necessary to make himself a viable candidate like Huckabee? Why isn't he demonstrating a will to win like Huckabee?

And Rush, doesn't Thompson know anything about retail politics? His answer at the debate about his differences with Obama amounted to a neanderthalic "liberal bad". In essence he said that Obama has adopted the plank of every liberal special interest group. But that is too general. In contrast, Huckabee was far more specific and enumerated the differences on abortion, same-sex marriage, the 2nd amendment, federalism, national defense, and on and on.

We need someone who is going to be able to communicate these differences, spell them out, and match the energy that the opposition is going to bring. The sleepwalker may have great principles and qualities, but he is not the man to represent the republican party this time.
