Clearly the faction that agrees with me is very large. See Iowa caucus results.

Not large enough to win the general election. And if the GOP loses because many in other factions stay home, then the GOP will likely go the way of the Whigs in 1860.

If by “faction” you mean evangelicals, I thought you didn’t want that kind of identity politics in the Republican party. Republicans welcome evangelicals.

Or is the faction you are referring to the socialist faction? In that case the entire faction can take a hike, and take the Christian Socialist Huckster along with you when you leave.

He’s right here and He is not happy.

The reason this state won’t ‘really matter’ is because of two reasons. The first being that Wayne County makes up a massive portion of the voting bloc and always goes dem and the second being that not enough conservatives seem to give a damn enough to make a difference.

“I wish he would stop with the jabs at evangelicals.”

Why are you characterizing it as a “jab?” You’re way off on this.

That’s what people do when they’re trying to drive a wedge.

The reason you have him is because moderate Republicans were pushing Rudy on us. Evangelicals were given no choice but to find their own candidate so how can people complain now.

Apparently he’s not the right kind of Christan for these hypocrites.

I agree. Its enough for most of these Hucksters that he's out there boldly proclaiming faith. Doesn't matter whether he live it or not. Just go out and claim it and Jesus will take care of the issues they're uncomfortable with. Doesn't even matter if he's truthful to achieve his end just as long as he tutes the blowhorn.

That is why we have primaries. If Huckabee wins though, be prepared for a 40+ state loss.

A powerful group of children who would cut off their nose to spite their face. Fred embodies qualities all conservatives can rally around. The “Evangelicals” appear to be bent on electing a candidate the other two important conservative groups are unhappy with, making them liberals or populists.

Fred is a Christan, a fiscal conservative, and has extensive experience in foreign policy. He’s a fantastic orator and is consistent in his position every time the issues are discussed.

I have always been uncomfortable with the term “evangelicals.” I’m a main stream Protesant. I’m a Christian. I sincerely believe that the left despises “Christians” period. In that regard, I would be proud to be called an “evangelical Christian.” The Great Oz Has Spoken.”

I choose him based on his POLITICAL positions, not his faith.

Which Huckabee political positions are those. The ones now or the ones when he was governor?

Rush is explaining that Fred Thompson would be much better at advancing social conservatism than Huckabee. It’s not a “jab.”

Jimmy Carter ran as a “Christian.” But his presidency harmed the agenda of social conservatives. Huckabee is the same threat Carter was.

I am so glad I don’t go to a Baptist/Evangelical Church. Too often, they are easily misled. No wonder Huck is making gain. Have you checked out any of those types of churches, often you can’t tell if the guy in front talking is a preacher or an undertaker. I just don’t care for it.

I have a feeling many have already given to the Huck campaign and don’t want to see their “investment” wasted.

Because we all know the future of the country can be decided by $50. </s>

“Not as good on social issues”

=

“Won’t use the federal gov’t to implement unconstitutional laws like the left does to push THEIR agenda on everyone.”

Do it at the state level where it’s constitutional and be take a history/civics class.
