You said — “And if the Mormons get the idea they are pushed out because of their religion, youre not going to have their help with whomever you want to put in.”
Well, do you think by now that they’ve finally got the idea that Evangelical Christians are not about to vote for a cult member for President of the United States? I hope so, because it will always be that way.
The problem that some of the Mormons have, is that they may be believing their own propaganda, when they try to tell other basic, historic and foundational Christians that *they* (i.e., the Mormons) are actually “Christians” themselves — and then in the next breath, explain how the Christians lost the “true Gospel” and how Joseph Smith has restored that lost Gospel.
Oh yeah, like that’s going to fly over ya, like a lead balloon.
I mean if the Mormons are believing their own propaganda that they are actually a church that teaches basic, historic and foundational Christianity — then they are really big fools. Of course they know that their church does not teach that same stuff. They know that very well. They’re just hoping other basic, historic, foundational Christians don’t know that.
What do they expect, when they try to tell such a false story that they actually teach the same kind of doctrines as the other basic, historic and foundational Christian churches do. Of course the Evangelicals are not going to let a group that lies like that — have one of their members become President. I mean, if they cannot even tell the truth about their own church, what do they expect we’re going to think of a Mormon candidate. Come on now..., do they think Evangelicals are that dumb??!

I always find this kind of Protestant critique of Mormonism to be highly ironic. I don't equate Protestantism with Mormonism. But this line of attack is like the pot calling the kettle black.
"to be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant"
