Romney ran negative ads against Huckabee. Huckabee ran an ad wishing everybody Merry Christmas. Huckabee made a responding negative ad but then decided not to show it. I’ve been in campaigns and would give odds that it was Rollins that wanted to hit back and hard and that Huckabee to his credit decided at the last minute not to. I’m not a Huckabee supporter but I don’t think the anger against Huckabee is justified. It’s just sour grapes. The problem is this: Romney has supported homosexual scoutmasters, abortion, homosexual partnership rights and the like. He flip-flopped to try to become President (no core values). So in addition to the guys like me that won’t vote for a Mormon for President because I think Mormonism is a cult and a terrible twisting of the truth there are way more people that just don’t like Romney’s flip-flops. Throw in the fact that Romney comes across as a Ken doll, plastic and phony, and without a good sense of humor, especially compared to Huckabee, and you get a guy that is crushed in the Republican primaries. Romney, with the resume and all the money in the world, isn’t that great a candidate.

Thompson is the path away from chaos in my opinion.

The problem is this: Romney has supported homosexual scoutmasters,
BB: No he has not.

abortion,
BB: He was earlier pro-choice. He has never been pro-abortion. Do you know the difference?

homosexual partnership rights and the like.
BB: Homosexuals are human beings and have rights and can make partnerships if they want. Romney is against having them change the definition of marriage.

He flip-flopped to try to become President
BB: Your opinion.

(no core values).
BB: He has deep core values.

So in addition to the guys like me that won’t vote for a Mormon for President because I think Mormonism is a cult
BB: Mormonism is not a cult any more than Christianity is a cult. And I think you are being narrow minded.

But why discuss it. You will not change your view on this and I will not change mine.

“Huckabee made a responding negative ad but then decided not to show it. “ Oh please. He showed it to the press and did get it run a lot more than if he *had* bought it. That was so transparently a “we need to attack Romney but we want to do it on the cheap” ploy practically no insider fell for it ... yet it probably worked because bumpkins have a false believe that the slick Huckster actually is an

Huckabee has been to most dishonest and least ethical candidate in the race. Rollins on his crew? His push-polling. His false evasions on his record as Governor. His sly ‘offhand’ comment to NYT. The constant “I’m a Christian” theme to troll for the identity/bigot voters, all the while claiming to take a ‘high road’ that he had no right to claim.

Sour grapes? More like umbrage that Iowa voters fell for the PT Barnum circus act.

“So in addition to the guys like me that won’t vote for a Mormon for President because I think Mormonism is a cult and a terrible twisting of the truth”

... stop right there. that’s an awful terrible and prejudiced reason to vote against someone. To defend that way of thinking is to defend stupidity. The result of that stupid thinking is a CLUSTERHUCK, the worst candidate who happens to be a tax-and-spend populist but is the most “most Christian” wins. As a result of this thinking, the Reagan coalition falls apart and a RINO or Democrat gets elected. Bravo, I hope the death of Reagan conservatism was worth keeping a Mormon out of the White House.
