Thanks, AGP. This was a first for me, so I didn't know what to expect.

Yes, I was disappointed he had no one, the only one IIRC. Thompson had a good supporter. I could have taken better notes, but had gotten there early and wanted to get to store & home, cold but not too terrible. I could be wrong, but I think most came in with their minds made up. I was weak on Thompson and Hunter, but the speakers didn't come up with much of anything I hadn't read here and glossed over the negatives I knew about.

They did take a life vote in my precinct. 100% ayes for life! No nays! Also a smoking ban like other states, I smoke but quit anywhere in public quite awhile ago, but finally they had to have people stand ayes and nays so they could count more accurately. They said no to government intervention and restaurant owners should be able to decide themselves who gets to smoke and who doesn't. They voted against making any law banning smoking in certain places even though most were mostly nonsmokers themselves.

Anyway, here I am thinking I am on top of things, waiting for the rest of the state to come in and well, they're mostly in and all you Freepers have been watching channels I can't get and reporting it! Amazing!

If this keeps up and Obama keeps his momentum, we'll have to take another look at our side . . . .or will we? A friend in the south who is not evangel thinks Obama cannot carry the country because of his race, and he is not racist personally. He said the evangels & Baptists in south will never vote for him.

I did vote for Romney, but knew this was only a caucus and can go with almost anybody else who can beat the Dems.

If we could start a national campaign to get folks signed up for FreeRepublic, where ever anyone came down they would at the very least be completely informed. Bypassing the MSM for the new media is where the war of this Countries future lies.

today, listening to the Frank Luntz interviews... it’s bad out there.

I’m sure our troops wish you wouldn’t sit out. Letting a lib become CIC is the sure result of that and they deserve better.

Exactly so! If folks truly do support our troops they would NEVER sit out the election, vote third party, or vote Dem. Our troops deserve more than keyboard warriors SAYING they support our troops but then voting, or not voting, in a way that would harm them...literally!!!

Let’s put things in perspective, most of the polling groups had FRED in single digits behind Ron Paul. He has had very little positive press unlike the second coming of McLame. He was on Fox all day today trying to dispell a rumor that he was going to drop out. FNC is STILL pushing that BS. If FRED stays in third place in Iowa, this will be hugh and series. Heres a guy who was openly criticized for being lazy and he still got his messaage out. This is just the beginning. We all know candidates fortunes can turn on a dime or phrase. I hope FRED is in this for the long run. There are only two conservative candidates running. Duncan Hunter and FRED. I’m not concerned, like a turd, this too shall pass.

I would say politico is and has always been a force against Fred. They are pushing for a democratic victory.

Not as much as you think.

Funny you should say that. In what way has Iowa ever mattered? In its predictive power for nominees... Somewhere less than half the time?

I do truly wonder why anyone cares. I’ve been asking all week. How is it important what 1% of a small state thinks?

In fact... It’s still too early for anything to matter. About May or so... That’s the time to pay attention.
