DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Was the government right to get involved in Terri Schiavo’s death? Did the court overstep its bounds when it ordered the disabled 41-year-old woman’s feeding tube removed? Will the debate over euthanasia be a factor in the upcoming election?
These are some of the questions Chris Mitchell, president of the Florida Chautauqua Center, hopes Bobby Schindler, Schiavo’s brother, will answer at the 13th Annual Florida Chautauqua Assembly.
Schindler opens the assembly with a keynote speech at 10 a.m. Jan. 31 at First United Methodist Church in DeFuiak Springs. The assembly’s apt theme this year is “A Journey into the American Presidency.”
Mitchell said he wants the assembly to educate voters........................
