Late-Breaking Surge for Thompson

The latest news from Iowa? According to Zogbys latestand I quote: Sen. Fred Thompson
has seen a late-breaking surge. (Rich notes the same poll below.)
Whats going on here? My guess is that there are whole lot of Iowa Republicans who have about the same attitude that David Limbaugh displayed in his column yesterday:
Fred is the only [candidate] I don't have major reservations about
.I find his lack of "fire in the belly" refreshing. He strikes me as one of the few presidential candidates since Ronald Reagan whose primary motivation is not personal aggrandizement but rather serving and leading the nation in very troubled and dangerous times. I see him as almost being drafted into this project, and his refusal to drool publicly over the prospect of becoming the most powerful man in the world is positively delightful.

One good thing about Fred dropping out is that Free Republic can get back to normal. One good thing about him staying in is that you'll still be on every Fred-thread, exhibiting your tireless wisdom and boyish good looks (I'm totally guessing on the last part, I'm probably wayyyyy off).

You know a campaign is in trouble when it picks a fight with Fox News.LMAO....Fred has a legitimate complaint there. As did the other non-RINO candidates....guess you missed Ruperts Hillary fundraiser? That should tell you all you need to know.

Huck was on for two segments. Fred's team managed to play his new commercial (here in Central Iowa), during the break between the two segments...right before they went back to the Huckster...LOL. Compare and contrast, indeed.
LOL I would love to have seen them compared like that. That must have been pretty funny!
I know this is going to sound tacky but why in the world hasn't the Huckster got his teeth fixed? His mouth looks terrible. Even the cad, Jon Carry got his fixed when he started running.

Considering how volatile the situation is, I cant imagine Fred quitting soon. Often its good to stick it out awhile, unforeseen things change that Fred could take advantage of
This talk about him quitting are BS put out by those most afraid of him....
His campaign strategy is playing the late game...he can afford to do it...
Guliani,McCain and Thompsoon all have national name recognition and don't need to spen 27 million dollars in the EARLY going just to try to become a viable candidate. ALl three of them are concentrating on Super Tuesday. Romeny will only make it there if he can do well early, otherwise he's gone....Huckster too.

I am leaning more and more for Guilianni if I cant have Hunter. Thanks God! I was on the edge of my seat waiting with breathless anticipation to see which non-Fred candidate you were holding out for that last bit of data on which to base your cherished vote.

His mouth looks terrible.I cannot believe that you said that...not because it was "tacky"...but because I could think of NOTHING but that during the entire interview.
That particular lighting apparently highlighted the problem. I kept thinking of a giant rat...I'm not kidding!
I've now joined you in the "tackiness" camp.

You know, I couldnt do any worse than Freds campaign manager...
Frankly that statement is moronic.
Mary Matalin guided GHWBush and his kid into the Whitehouse and YOU want to slam her cause Fred's not #1 start to finish? LMAO
It's OK to admit you have no clue what the startegy is...really, we understand. We're on your side....;)

I will continue to slam Freds campaign until he turns it around and makes it about national security and his immaculate credentials. I will continue to call everyone involved in his campaign out for being a fool for not. Especially when theyve watch their candidate tank. Its time for a new campaign theme, Fred.
EXCUSE ME...WHAT *^(&^%^%$ UNIVERSE DO YOU LIVE IN?
He's gone from around 8 points to some pointing as high as 16 which put's him statistically in the top tier whith the others....TANK?...go away troll.

Counter, I cant believe youre saying that. Its obvious you have not been to one of his live speeches. It's obvious he hasn't been paying any attention to the campaign at all which tells me he's a troll mascarading as a "dis-satisfied supporter"...Actually his whole tone smacks of being a Mitthead...

LOL! I hadn't thought about the rat but now that you said it, I can sure see it.
I've now joined you in the "tackiness" camp.
We're in the tacky boat together. LOL! I just can't believe someone in his camp hasn't told him to get them capped. It would certainly improve his appearance. I just can't see the POTUS meeting with dignitaries from other countries looking like that.

Yes, Mark Levin and Rush, although I could have sworn I heard Mark Levin use the phrase "my guy" when talking about Thompson in a show sometime before Christmas ... he likes Thompson clearly and plenty.
... and also Mark Steyn, who did all but use the word "endorse" in his Oct. 25 column for Macleans Canada (the link to the article has expired ... Macleans.ca) called "Lets Hear it for Laconic Leadership."
I bet Steyn is very perplexed by his friend Hugh Hewitt.

The troll “Tossup” is dead. His posting history showed nothing but negativism toward all Republican candidates in the 4 days he had been here.
Thanks to everybody who challenged him to site a source for his stupid remark about Fred Thompson.
Be ever vigilant, they are swarming here to run down any Republican candidate, especially if that candidate is conservative.
