If McCain - a former torturee himself - feels that by using alternate interrogation instead of the three or four waterboardings that may have occured during his presidency is worth the gain in national respect, then I can accept that.

Closing Gitmo? Isn’t the Bush administration working towards that end right now?

-Tell that to someone dying of radiation burns in one of our larger cities
-Tell it to someone who loses a spouse in a terrorist attack
-Tell it to a child who lost his parents to a dirty bomb.

~Well, we could have prevented it from happening, but someone in Sweden objected to 30 seconds of simulated drowning.~
