The secret words are from the company that invented the security device. The founder decided that because of the number of digitized books that had words the computer could not read they are using our vision and computers to decipher the words. This is similar to what Seti at Home was doing. After x number of people agree on the words they will be inserted into the text of the book so it can be posted in full context on the net.
