Bloomberg is targeting Independents to prevent them from voting for the GOP Candidate when faced with Hillary as their only other choice.
Independents will break to the GOP with Hillary as the alternative so Bloomberg’s job is to siphon off those votes.
He will not target Democrats in his advertising. He will not target Republicans in his advertising. He will target the disaffected center and do his best to keep them from voting Republican.
But it's not going to have any effect. These independents are not going to vote for Bloomberg. They are educated, have studied the issues, and concluded that Bloomberg is a statist with no appeal. I don't care how much money Bloomberg spends on remodeling himself. Independents will see through this and they'll go back to backing either Hillary or the GOP nominee. If Paul's the GOP nominee, it doesn't matter who runs 3rd party. He's got all the independents, libertarians, and Democrats who oppose the war vote locked up.
