Romney is the only electable top-tier candidate who supports the amendment in the GOP platform seeking to protecting marriage between one woman and one man. Supporting equal rights for all is not the same thing as supporting gay marriage or promoting a homosexual agenda. Ann Coulter understands the difference:

Romney has so many rock-solid and bright people supporting him who know the truth and have evaluated his platform, his sincerity and his convictions up close and personal on this issue (and many others). These attempts to lie and distort his record are truly futile --- and look exceedingly more and more desperate.
One great example of someone who knows this issue and supports Mitt is Mary Ann Glendon. She was on Mitt's team before Pres. Bush chose her as his ambassador to the Vatican.
In 1994, Pope John Paul II appointed Glendon to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. In 2004, Glendon became the highest ranking female advisor to the Church when she was named president of the Academy.
