Touche’ But seriously Diesel fuel is limited to virgin product. i.e. the diesel cut on the crude oil. I know you are going mention biodiesel, but you are, like EtOH, trading food for crude, I know also that it can be made out of nonfood oils. It must, however, displace land that is currently being used for food production.Although vast, farm land is limited. Some one mentioned Propane as a fuel. I don't doubt that a diesel engine could be developed to inject propane, but I am at a loss to to understand why. BTU content is low, and quantity is limited.
So, in my opinion, nothing in current technology is available to replace Petroleum as the primary energy source
We need to develop nuclear and increase oil production.Refineries are being expanded.
I believe that an alternate energy source is a decade away.
